Year 6 Beech Class
Class teacher - Mrs Mara Dowsett - email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Year 6 have completed their topic work by looking at surrealism and reflecting on how the arts can be a means of communication.
Fibonacci amazed us in maths and we had an enjoyable 'free-flow' day where the children were able to select their own activities, working cooperatively to share equipment.
Our trip to Polesden Lacey involved long walks, ice-pops along the way, time to play, a picnic and all in such beautiful surroundings.
The effort the children have put into the enterprise project has been very impressive, with many making toys, games, key-rings, painted stones and scrunchies all in their own time. It was no mean feat to provide enough food, drink and games for the whole school on top of this and they were delighted to see all the smiles on the faces of the younger children as a result. They have taken the opportunity to realise the positive impact they can have on others both individually and as a team.
Also, for the Year 6 Enterprise Mini Summer Fair on Wednesday, the children raised a fantastic £234. Many thanks to all the wonderful support from the school community. They democratically voted for it to be donated to Cancer Research.
Finally, a football tournament and a camping day with Forest School, stories around the camp fire, a barbeque and team games rounded off a very busy two weeks!
We have thoroughly enjoyed teaching your children this year and wish them and you a safe and restful summer followed by a successful and happy time at secondary school.
With best wishes for a safe and restful weekend,
Mrs Dowsett, Mrs Martyn, Mrs Hurcomb and Mrs Ryan
