On Monday 12th June, Year 6 travelled down to Hampshire Eco –Sustainability Centre to enjoy their 5 day residential trip!
We had a fantastic time at the centre, taking part in a variety of outdoor activities, whilst learning about the importance of renewable resources, farming, nature, and of course, sustainability.
Here are some of the highlights of the week: Tractor/trailer tour of the farm, woodside bling making, sand bag arches, chalk and flint carving, tree spirits, storytelling, shelter building, team building games, water game, making solar Lego cars and toasting marshmallows by the campfire.
Year 6 at the Sustainability Centre building a one man emergency shelter based on an army design. The winning team built a completely insulated shelter in record time – the instructor was very impressed, especially with this group, but with all our children for the team work they showed.
This was a great opportunity for the year 6 children and they were excellent ambassadors for St Lawrence School. Well done Year 6!
