The Friends organise lots of different events throughout the year including a Christmas Shopping Day for children, Christmas and Spring Fairs, a Summer Ball for parents, cake sales, raffles, auctions, second hand uniform sales, camping event, quiz nights, film nights and discos. Every year we like to add in a few different events (eg sponsored walk, 80s disco, circus, family camping) and we are always open to new suggestions!
Payments may be made by cash or cheque (payable to “The Friends of St Lawrence Primary School”).
Please check back regularly as we add new events all the time as the year progresses.
During the Autumn Term 2016 we managed to raise a staggering £7329.70 in just one term! This is an amazing amount for a one-form entry school. We achieved this through refreshment sales, cake sales, Apple Week, Film Night, Wine tasting, Christmas Fair, Christmas Shopping Day, kids designed T-towels, kids designed Christmas cards and donations.
This money has gone towards funding more furniture for the Library following the re-development of the layout last academic year, wood chippings for the play area to ensure a safe area for the children to play in, the Year 6 World War 1 workshop, Forest School Christmas parties, the furniture for the Hazel Hut, furniture and resources for the ELSA room, a PA system for the school to use and lots of Christmas crackers to go with Jackie's yummy Christmas lunch!
This term we are continuing to fundraise for the re-development of the KS2 outdoor learning areas following the KS1 re-development over the last 2 years.
